Bob Gammage could truly spice things up in the Lone Star State. He's currently living the peaceful life in Llano, but he's pissed off at what Rick Perry has done to Texas. The
Statesman follows the
BOR and the
Democratic Undergound in reporting about Gammage's potential run for
Texas governor. Gammage has been a state rep, state senator, us congressman and supreme court justice...and he supposedly can fire up a crowd. He's got the Wes Clark netroots community behind him, and he's run statewide before.
But is he too late?
Chris Bell hasn't generated much excitement, but he's got a head start in the Democratic primary. And too few people factor in the big impact
Felix Alvarado will have in the primary...especially in South Texas. If nothing else, an exciting Democratic primary will generate headlines for Democrats and will help build grassroots excitement across the state for our eventual nominee. Anybody but Perry! How embarrassing would it be if the proud state of Texas made Rick Perry it's longest serving Governor? Perry seems to have topped out in the
low 40's, so things could get real interesting in Texas in 2006.
