As I look back at the comotion in the house today, I am reminded of a song by Traffic, a group that included Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi, Chris Wood and Dave Mason. They played music a couple of years ago. The song is Shanghai Noodle Factory.
This is one of my favorite bands - right up there with Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, Spirit, Parocal Harem, Jeff Beck and many others that played before Compact Disks hit the scene.
Below the fold are the lyrics to this song. If you can think of any other songs, I would like to know the band and, if you can, the lyrics. I am always into new music - even though I don't own any. -mal
I seem to like my record collection. I still own it and I can still play it. The songs are great - this one in particular. The verses do a good job of describing the Republicans. The refrain describes my thoughts of the whole mess.
In a Shanghai Noodle Factory
Place where I once used to be
No where doing nothing
People there were made of steel
Tiny cogs in one big wheel
Turning never learning
Had to make a break
And soon I had to wake up feeling stronger, feeling stronger
In my island of dreams, with impossible schemes
In a Shanghai Noodle Factory
Place where I once used to be
No where doing nothing
People there were made of cans
Packed like roosters in a pen
Crowing, never knowing
Had to make a break
I knew I couldn't fake it any longer
Everything just aches
Soon I'd have to wake up feeling stronger, feeling stronger
In my island of dreams, with impossible schemes
