The most excellent diary http://dailykos.com/story/2005/11/22/181638/47
BREAKING Bush PDB on 9/21/01, unless I am missing the obvious, has a critical feature that is not being emphasized, and that has nothing to do with whether Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11 or had planned to be the 20th hijacker.
The PDB is the Presidential Daily Briefing, one of the most sensitive single intelligence documents that is created in the government. (Crypto and agent-name lists are perhaps more sensitive.) The document in question is if I read the discussion correctly still so classified that the Senate cannot see it.
A PDB has been leaked to the press. I believe that this is an MORE BELOW FOLD
unprecedented event. In order for it to happen, assuming that the leak is not a hoax, which remains to be seen, one of a very small number of people with access to the document had to take it on himself or herself to override our country's security protections. This act bespeaks a massively huge level of dissatisfaction in the Central Intelligence Agency's higher echelons with the Bush administration.
This could be a one time event, perhaps by someone who will not take the same risk twice, or it may be the opning pages of a second Pentagon papers release.
And for the Kossack who was hoping for the torture authorization memo, be patient. Your time may well come.
