Time Magazine has now joined FoxNews as one of the principal propaganda organs of the neoconservative/neoliberal movement. In this week's edition, just came in the mail today, Time pays homage to Teddy Roosevelt as part of its "Making of America" series.
How this is "news" I have no idea.
Anyway, Time must have invited Karl Rove to write this, because on page 86 Rove offers readers "Lessons from a Larger-than-Life President."
They are nothing if not laughable coming from Rove:
1. It is every American's responsibility to be active in our civic life.
2. Politics should be animated large important ideas.
3. The United States, while not flawless, is a profound force for good in the world.
4. Leadership matters.
5. A spirited clash of ideas is not only intevitable in politics, but helpful.
6. There can be great joy in politics.
7. Character matters.
Picture the expression on Rove's face as he was writing these things. I'm sure he'd write the same thing as "Lessons from Bush." His job after all is to help make Bush appear "larger than life."
