I'm literally fogged in today, thinking about the trial of Saddam and the much-needed trial of George W. Bush. The parallels stagger me. Both gave orders for the deaths of those resisting their will. Neither one raised a hand or aimed a gun; they only made their wishes known to their military and the deeds were done. In the case of Bush and Company, the evil deeds continue.
Is there nowhere that the gruesome threesome of Rumsfield, Cheney and Bush can be held accountable for the thousands of civilian deaths their adventure has caused? Or can they simply refuse to recognize any court's authority and walk away to kill another day?
If there is no international body with the stones and zeal to indict Cheney, Rumsfeld and Bush for crimes against humanity and for invading and despoiling a country, then individuals or groups could do it -- with great fanfare. A televised mock trial of George W. Bush would be great entertainment, as well as being instructive to Americans about U.S. and international law. So the floor is open to nominate actors, living or dead, to play Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld.
