The drug "benefit" that was pushed through by Bush a while ago will finally come to your town in a couple of days.
Want to know what it will be like? Can you say, "post war plans in Iraq?" How about "Katrina"? But, Iraq is well, over there. So, who cares, right? Except for the 280 million Americans who are footing the bill. And Katrina? Who cares, right? Unless you live on the gulf coast, or used to.
It looks like this is going to be the next debacle sponsored by the Bush administration. And it's coming to you, your friends and parents, all over the U.S. A drug benefit, yes, but for the drug companies only.
The New York Times writes that everyone else is reaping only confusion.
It also says:
"The drug benefit, estimated to cost $724 billion over 10 years, is the biggest expansion of Medicare since its creation in 1965 and is often described as Mr. Bush's biggest achievement in domestic policy."
Don't let them forget that this new debacle will be their "biggest achievement". Welcome to Bush's America where really horrible policy is the best they can do.
