I'm new to dKos, and after looking around for a few weeks, I've got a dilemma:
Should I continue to maintain my personal blog, or put my efforts into my dKos diary? Or both?
I know, I know -- the height of egotism to even ask such a question, much less post it. But, even though I hesitate, the post sees the light of day because I trust the input of other dKosians who are probably not older, but probably wiser, than I.
To a writer and activist, it's a simple but everyday problem: my current blog is read by perhaps three people on any sort of regular basis. I can promote it, I can try to sell it and cross-link it, and I'll probably still be just another anemic voice in the b-sphere. And, to be successful, an invididual blog needs at least a post a day, if not two or three.
Or, I can post an occasional diary at dKos, with some time put into it, and have a shot, at least, of having the time pay off, the stuff read, and of getting feedback and alternate views and all the Stuff that goes on at dKos.
I posed this to a friend this morning, and he said I should do my political/policy writing here, and my everything-else on my own blog. That may just make the time demand twice as big, but it may be a good way to segregate the two.
So, good folks of dailyKos Land, what do you think? Any suggestions? Any of you who have faced, or are facing, such a quandary? Or does it seem like just so much typical insecure writer's angst? All feedback truly welcome.
