Deborah Davis is a normal mother of four living in Colorado. She was arrested for not showing ID to a security guard that boarded the bus she takes to work everyday. She has been charged with a misdemeaner. The ACLU is defending her, but we should all be paying attention to this. We already had Blackwell paramilitary thugs on the streets of New Orleans. Now, citizens on their way to work have to show ID upon demand to private security upon demand? Fuck that shit. Just like Flavor Flave, I'm not going out like that.
More down there
Her is a web sight on Ms. Davis's case.

And here are more specific details.
"Meet Deborah Davis. She's a 50 year-old mother of four who lives and works in Denver, Colorado. Her kids are all grown-up: her middle son is a soldier fighting in Iraq. She leads an ordinary, middle class life. You probably never would have heard of Deb Davis if it weren't for her belief in the U.S. Constitution."
So, anyways, after she had refused to show ID to the security guard, he called the police, who proceeded to be total assholes.
"Suddenly, the second policeman shouted "Grab her!" and he grabbed the cell phone from her and threw it to the back of the bus. With each of the policemen wrenching one of her arms behind her back, she was jerked out of her seat, the contents of her purse and book bag flying everywhere. The cops shoved her out of the bus, handcuffed her, threw her into the back seat of a police cruiser, and drove her to a police station inside the confines of the Denver Federal Center."
Damn, I've been spoiled all my life, living in Boston and San Francisco, where the cops, more often than not, are pretty solid. They treat citizens with respect where I've lived. I'd like to see that for the rest of the country, so keep your eyes on this case. If anyone can get to Denver on December 9th, please do so, it's our freedom on the line.
