Why did Steve Young lose in CA-48? Now, before you start listing reasons Steve Young lost, it has been done, and that is not the intent of this diary, but as a Congressional Candidate myself (IN-06) the defeat Steve Young took last night weighs on my mind. Why do any Democratic Candidates lose?
After OH-02, we in the Midwest felt momentum. Was that a false feeling brought on by 'Super Candidate' that can't be duplicated? What issues could possibly be on the Republican side, that would cause people to vote Republican?
Let's be honest, on the issues that most impact citizens; jobs, healthcare, education, every American should be a Liberal and a Progressive. Why aren't they?

Now, I am a Pastor of a United Methodist Church, and I am a Christian, and I also believe in medicine and gravity and science, so simply saying that it is all about the Religious Right really doesn't apply to me. I am the guy they labeled "The Liberal Evangelical." Since I am speaking about my personal faith, let me say there is no war on Christmas, and let me also say that we are having services on Christmas morning unlike some of the mega churches, so maybe there is a difference, but the point is, there are many Democrats that are Christian, and who understand that not everyone else is, at least here in my small spot of the world. I am not running as "Reverend", I believe in separation of church and state, and I don't want anybody to vote for me or against me because of faith. I want it to be because of the issues. So for just a moment, let's take God, Jesus, Intelligent Design, and Evolution, or science out of the equation.
Why do Democrats lose if we have the correct position on issues that should matter most to Americans?
