How else can you explain his behavior? From cutting benefits for the enlisted to the way the returning wounded and dead have been treated...
How many personnel have been evacuated from just the Army in Iraq due to medical reasons? Answer can be found here. This number does not include Navy, Marine or Air Force personnel.
Things I heard at the meetup last night:
We talked about the NPR story linked to above. It is unbelievable how many have been evacuated from Iraq. Almost 10% of the force if you believe some reports.
There was a terrorist alert in Germany for two hospitals. Why? Well it turns out that the Air Force hospital over there is overflowing, so they have to use German civilian hospitals. Two of them. I don't know if the terrorist threat is real.
The way this mis-administration is treating our men and women in uniform is absolutely appalling. The dead and wounded come in at 1:00 am under the cover of darkness so that their numbers can be hidden. There is no welcoming party, no citizens who can cheer and wish them well. They are swept under the rug like they are some untouchable failures. I can't believe the generals in the Pentagon who fought in Vietnam can even countenance this.
