I didn't watch the SOTU. I have an excuse, all my stuff is in a fly-by-night mover's warehouse. I could've stayed at work and seen it, but I didn't. This despite an obligation to my job that I be familiar with the speech. I read it instead. It is physically painful for me to watch the man speak, and I'm not alone.
CNN published a poll, the results of which were that 48% of those surveyed had "a very positive reaction" to the SOTU. But what caught my eye was the breakdown of those who viewed it:
The audience was 43 percent Republican, 23 percent Democratic and 34 percent Independent.
Millions of us have tuned the man out. What does that say about the state of our union?
