Did you hear your president yesterday
when he said this?
It's just so easy to say, let somebody else deal with it
But, I thought being president was hard work? I guess that is another challenge W has overcome. So, what was George talking about?
His
Iraq "strategy"?
Asked about prospects for a full withdrawal, Bush replied, "That, of course, is an objective, and that will be decided by future presidents, and future governments of Iraq."
Sweet. That was easy. Next thing to let someone else deal with? How about the US policy on Iran?
Bolton dismissed the prospects of U.S. negotiations with Iran, saying a slew of diplomatic initiatives by other countries aimed at stalling Iran's nuclear advances over the past three years had failed to bear fruit.
Good guess. We passed on that too and let others deal with it. But he wasn't talking about Iran.
Peak Oil? Renewable energy?
"We need an energy bill that encourages consumption."
Swing and a miss. But another valiant effort on your part. Ok, how about deficit spending?
"I remember -- I remember campaigning in Chicago, and one of the reporters said, would you ever deficit spend? I said only -- only in times of war, in times of economic insecurity as a result of a recession, or in times of national emergency. Never did I dream we'd have a trifecta."
The Trifecta!! Daily Double!! But don't get excited. George hit the Trifecta, not you.
Ok. It appears you aren't going to get the answer right so I'll tell you. George was actually not summing up his philosphy of life for you (well, he was, he just didn't realize that). He was talking about his plan to "fix" social security. That's right. The Decider made a Derision Deciderision decision and he is gonna do something about it. Or not.
Sometimes it just seems easier for people to say, we'll deal with it later on.
George W Bush, June 27, 2006
Sigh.
