I just had the misfortune of listening to Joe Scarborough go on and on about how Dan Rather should have resigned. The only good argument I heard is that if all Rather's supporting cast had to resign, why not Rather himself.
My big question to Scarborough is why he is so focused on Rather. So he
got one story wrong was fooled by forged documents - big deal. Where is the outrage over things that matter, like lies that got us into a neverending war? I don't hear him calling for the resignation of Bush, Cheney or anyone else responsible for this mess.
Are we now holding journalists to a higher standard than our elected leaders who actually shape the direction of our country?
So what is with the fake outrage? I'm surprised they are talking about this during a month where war casualties have spiked, where we have an indictment in the white house, etc, etc. Why is this story still newsworthy?!?
