A comment on an earlier posting seemed to suggest, if only half-way, that this is a waste of bandwidth, my going on about nothing of significance (to that reader, at least)...
Here's what I have to say about that.
There's already enough political blogging that covers my perspective fairly well. I am not vain enough to think that people need to know my thoughts on the absolute evil and corruption that is the Bush administration and its Congress.
I honestly don't think the chorus of critics needs another voice to sing along on issues like the Supreme Court, Plamegate, Katrina, big oil, etc., etc., ad nauseam. Truly ad nauseam.
My point in blogging here is to introduce a smaller perspective. My life and the decisions I make reflect in a small way the insanity of life in the US now.
My only hope is that in reading a little about me and what I know is that the reader can either empathize (least likely, perhaps) or at best, see reflections of the greater world in my smaller life.
Couldn't I do so in commentary on other blogs? I suppose, but what would be the point? Anything I would say in the forum would be too diffuse to have even minor impact (again, vain to hope for that, but...).
So as I sit at a desk for a job I have hated since I began it more than four years ago, anticipating its conclusion at last in four days, it gives me solace to know that there is a small window, through which my my view of my small world is visible.
Thank you for reading.
