I posted this story earlier, and then inadvertently deleted it. I'm an idiot. Okay. Start over.
I would like to invite my brother and sister Kossacks to thank Governor Rod Blagojevich for telling pharmacists who were refusing
to fill birth control prescriptions to knock that shit off.
As you know by now, the Governor of Illinois has issued an executive order telling pharmacists that they don't get to make moral decisions about whether they're going to fill birth control prescriptions.
NO HASSLES, NO LECTURE, JUST FILL THE PRESCRIPTION. That's what the Guv said.
I know that the governor doesn't always do right by us, but I think, when someone takes a stand for progressive values, and for the right to privacy, it's important to acknowledge that good deed. So, I'm asking people to send the governor a thank you card. I just did.
Send correspondence for Governor Blagojevich
Office of the Governor, 207 State House, Springfield, IL 62706; (217) 782-0244 or (312) 814-2121 [TTY (888) 261-3336]. (NOTE: Should a response be required it will be mailed to you via the United States Postal Service, so it is important that you include your name and complete mailing address.)
I also apologize to those of you who read the earlier story and commented. I feel like such an idiot. Who knew that the "delete" button meant that it would delete the whole story?
