He said that, today, at Arlington Cemetary.
I know I'll always remember the rabid, spit-flying, fanatical way in which the Bush Administration, and its dittoheads in the media used jingoism masked as patriotism to whip the compliant public into a furor and thereby push this country not just into going to war, but into
starting a war.
There was nothing reluctant about it. Reluctance would have denoted a willingness to compromise with our allies and seek international support. Instead, we displayed arrogance. I don't think I need remind anyone of the other things this administration has said, or terms it has used, like "Old Europe" and "Irrelevant" and "Preemptive".
Preemptive, in and of itself, denies reluctance. Perhaps America was reluctant for war in the past, but Bush changed all that.
