Very good. It has been baffling to me that Dean somehow became the darling of the liberal left-Wellstone part of the Democratic party and could not expand beyond that. i went with him because he had the ELECTABLE message of balancing budgets, steering the economy through 2 Bush recessions and leaving VT one of the healthiest fiscal states. (BTW, i think the crisis of state budgets is a huge issue that not enough of our candidates have hit on. this is govt. at its most personal and has directly impacted so many people and yet we can't scream about how it's all Bush's fault??)
Dean is [was] a Rockefeller Republican at heart. his record suggests he was to the right of Kerry/Edwards. And yet i got a corporate bashing, bomb-throwing liberal Naderite?? To me, this really was the ultimate failure of the campaign. I don't know if Dean was "Faking it" about the "change in Washington" theme, but i do know the theme sucked cause 1. no one wanted to hear it and 2. the messenger himself was a bit suspect. I read the BFA blog and hear from all these true blue progressives about how Dean is the left's best hope and i'm like, say what? I supported him because i just thought he was the most electable against Bush, not because i wanted a crusader after my own lefty heart!! sigh.
