Today's extremely disappointing SC decision about Texas redistricting is a clarion call for one thing and one thing only
Greens must re-think their position
Prior to the Texas redistricting mess, this process occurred once, after the census. It was orderly. We could aim at getting control of the 3-5 offices in each state which control redistricting, and were often successful at gaining Democratic advantage.
Today, all bets are off.
In any state, at any time, the party in control of the redistricting offices (usually Gov, SoS, LtG, others) may do a redistricting at any time. Thus, control of these offices cannot EVER be considered a throw-away, as "redistricting won't happen, so we can concede a cycle." This is no longer true.
It is time for the Greens to come home to the Democratic Party.
We can no longer afford this divisive, split-the-left approach which the Greens have promoted. We cannot afford losing a cycle, which the Greens are promoting by their divisive tactics.
In OH, where we have a great opportunity to win the Gov and SoS, the Greens are running. They will cost us the state.
In IL, the gov is already in trouble. What do the Greens do? Make it worse by running a full slate.
