► My philosophy: no pain no pain.

  •  really? (none / 0)

1% of families reported INTEREST RATES as their most important financial problem? How on earth can that even happen?
  •  These Poll numbers are Incredible, considering.... (4.00 / 18)

    Just think of it -

Bush's plummet in all categories are Incredible, considering all the right wing lies and propaganda by Foxx, Hate Radio, 3 Qrts. of MSNBC, half of CNN (the other have is indifferent), and considering the lack of reporting by the cowardly, corporate, print media, and considering only the partial existence of any opposition party.

-- how low would they be if he faced a full opposition party and an active print media and at least one active cable channel??  The 20s??

  •  Runaway Bride (4.00 / 2)

That's a great nickname for Bush. He's also a selfish irresponsible loser who runs away from every problem he ever faced and somehow personally profits out of it. And we're stuck with him 'til '08.
  •  You look at these numbers and wonder.... (4.00 / 6)

How did we lose a fair and free election????

And I'm not even a fraudster.  In fact, I was one of the first anti-fraudsters.

  •  Chris Dodd is a fascist (3.00 / 3)

Chris Dodd says we need more troops in Iraq! So does McCain. So Repug and Dumbo crats agree on a solution to the war. Send in 400,000 troops get 50,000 causalties and then pull out. The Vietnam Formula.
  •  Al (4.00 / 2)

Thanks for all your hard work posting the pictures/graphs in this thread.  Between John Conyers/Downing street memo et all and Bush's sinking numbers I'm starting to feel a smidgen of hope again.

Obama will pry my 24 and 21 year old sons from my cold dead fingers.

  •  Biden again?! (4.00 / 12)

Someone stuff an old sock in that guy's mouth.

Christ, does he ever spend a Sunday morning having a cup of coffee and a prune danish with the wife?

  •  A Republican koan (4.00 / 30)

Nicole Devenish, blond-flak in chief, responds to the new 42% low:  President Bush doesn't believe in following the polls.  He's too busy following the people's agenda.

Let's see.  He's following the people's agenda, but the people don't approve of what he's doing.

What is the sound of one hand clapping?  George Bush is about to find out.

To announce that we are to stand by the president right or wrong is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public. -TR

I'm not sure which was prettier - the chart showing the the dissatisfaction of the Independents, or Cheney's green glow.

    Thanks for this diary!

  •  Dodd is usually good on these shows (4.00 / 8)

especially when it comes to Bolton. But something's wrong, someone's missing. Lieberman! Oh, Joe, where are you?! We need him to round out the craptacular trifecta of Biden, McCain and Joementum. Reid is also good, he needs to be on these shows more often. He, Conyers, Feingold, Boxer, all of em. And Brian Schweitzer, yay!

Ahh, but the strawberries that's... that's where Condi had them. They laughed at her and made jokes about that few, that prolific few wreaking havoc everywhere, but she proved beyond the shadow of a doubt and with... geometric logic... that that few were just trying to protect some (a few, remember it's only a few) fellow officers...

Rowdy reception for `Da Girlie Man

SANTA MONICA, California (AP) -- Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's return to his alma mater turned into an exercise in perseverance when virtually his every word was accompanied by catcalls, howls and piercing whistles from the crowd.

Schwarzenegger's face appeared to redden during his 15-minute commencement address Tuesday to 600 graduates at Santa Monica College.

Inside the stadium, the drone from hundreds of rowdy protesters threatened to drown out the governor's voice at times. Many in the crowd erupted in boos when a police officer pulled down a banner criticizing the estimated $45 million cost of the November 8 special election that Schwarzenegger proposed Monday.

Is this gonna be another report on how horrible video games are and that so-called "Family Groups" know whats best for people's children?

  •  CBS News Sunday Morning (none / 1)

I'll be watching the Texas Rollergirls on CBS News Sunday Morning from 9-10:30 ET. Roller Derby is more civilized and productive than Press the Meat although I would like to see Timmeh bludged with a skate.

  •  "The senate apologizes, mostly" (none / 0)

Sheryl Gay Stalberg at the New York Times in her Sunday June 19 column "The Senate Apologizes, Mostly" misses the point entirely of an apology by the United States senate. An apology is not about the past.
  •  McCain and torture (none / 0)

McCain supports torture because he knows from experience that it works on upper middle class white guys.
  •  McCain has no soul left (4.00 / 2)

And I don't say this as a knee-jerk Republican hater.

I admired him as I grew up in Arizona.  I met him a few times, and thought he was the nicest, most down-to-earth guy ever.  I even considered supporting him in 2000.

But he has no soul left.  None.  And he also may be unbeatable (what are Dems gonna do?  Say he has an illegitimate black child?).

  •  How can we get Biden off? (4.00 / 4)

This is an awesome thread.  What can we do about Sunday Talk?  It seems that the Corpulent Corporate News aka Fat Cat News has decided that they want the Presidential Race of 2008 to be between McCain and Biden. Purring Putrid Pandering Puff Pieces.   Rise Up and join the resistance.  Join us, The Feral Cats for Freedom In Montana.  We need to make CD's and DVD's of our spokesmen and women and pass them out on street corners. (I heard this idea on Thom Hartmann's Radio Show.  He called it the modern "pamphleteering".)  I've been making DVD's of The Daily Show and passing them out.

  •  CALL CONDI ON HER INCONSISTENCY (none / 1)

IF as Condoleeza RIce claimed on Wolf Blitzers show on Sunday, that she "wants the world to understand that America is a country that respects international law"  WHY is she supporting John Bolton to be our Ambassadore to the UN?

John Bolton believes "international law is a menace to democracy".

Isnt Bolton sending a  message that is in direct opposition to the message Secy Rice wants to send to the world?

  •  Did Condi really say this? (none / 0)

    thinkprogress.org :
This morning on Fox News Sunday, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was asked if "the Bush administration fairly [can] be criticized for failing to level with the American people about how long and difficult this commitment will be?" Rice responded:

[T]he administration, I think, has said to the American people that it is a generational commitment to Iraq.
