I`m on your mailing list because I am interested in keeping up with your agenda.
I must say that I find you out of touch, a spoiled wealthy executive-type that has no connection to the majority of the American people.
You have never had to live without (anything), like food, shelter or work. Your Senate majority leadership agenda reflects this. You only operate from within your own life experience, which excludes 80% of the American people who work long and hard hours for mere basics of rent, food and (if lucky) childcare and medical expenses.
I don't know why you wouldn't understand that people are becoming upset with your exclusive congressional agenda of introducing and passing bills that do nothing for most of these people, but only hurt them (as energy prices increase, and wages do not keep up with the increasing prices of not only food, but also fuel and housing/rental prices). Your buddy's "trickle down" theory is just that - a theory, and a bad one at that.
You are turning the American people against you. Don't you see it? Why don't you see it? Why is it that the Republicans are now in such danger of losing the house and the senate? Is it because of 60% of the American people are traitors and terrorists? Or is it because your party has failed deeply in caring for all of the people in our country? I ask you! But the answer is clear to me. Your party only cares about its own interests: wealth, power and control.
You can expect a lot of resistance. Even if you manage to fix the next elections in November, the repercussions will be severe. People will begin to revolt. Why don't you just think about this? Perhaps spend a month or two with people "below" your status, to see and feel what it's like to try to raise a family working full-time on a minimum wage with no medical benefits in a real estate market that places most people out of even renting a place and have enough money left to eat and buy clothes. Just think about it.
I know this is not something you have experienced, but thousands or perhaps hundreds of thousands of hard-working Americans are in this position right now. Won't you take the time to at least give some thought to their plight. Much of the opposition to your agenda could easily be addressed by your interest and care for these urgent needs.
