"All the President's actions are legal."
This seems to be the well-spring of the Republican flood of talking points that erodes our liberties.
Of course, it's difficult to go against the 'common sense' that is trumpeted on Fox and other MSM 'liberal' news sources. It seems that any action is legal as long as you don't get caught and prosecuted for it - or rather, if you do, your lawyers are clever enough to get you off.
"Right and wrong don't matter, litigation does."
I read a post in an earlier blog today that had a very telling quote - I paraphrase:
"I wish they wouldn't see the Constitution like they see the IRS Tax Code so they'd stop looking for loopholes."
That was so very, very apt.
*Who can we get to step into the stream and start building a dam to cut this off and begin restoring our "Constitutional Katrina?"
*Who will stand up to these blow-dry talking heads and inject some pragmatic reality into the discussion?
*Who will go out and tell the public that it is just NOT RIGHT that the Republican party can do the things they do [insert DNC "Culture of Corruption" meme here] and expect it to be OK with the rest of the country?
*Who can we get to tell them?
*Who can inform our neighbors who don't have time to keep up with this because they're working 2 jobs just to pay rent and get their kids through school?
Where can we find our leaders to get this mess cleaned up?
Look in the mirror.
That's where we'll all have to find our leaders. A monarchy like King George wants is led from the top down. Serfs need not apply. Our treasured democracy needs to have more leaders here at the bottom who actually get involved and LEAD.
You want to know how the present administratrion can do what they're doing and get away with it?
Look in the mirror.
"If not now, When?"
"If not ME, Who?"
