Went to hear Phil Angelides, current Treasurer of California explain why he is running for Govenor last night to a crowd of San Francisco Bay activists. Basically, he said all the stuff we wanted to hear- including [drumroll!] closing loopholes for corporations and raising taxes for the top 10% taxpayers. Mindful of his Lakoff, he pointed
out that Ronnie Reagan and Pete Wilson, former governors, had both raised taxes, that Swartznegger,
current Governor, or Gropinator (more allegations
of grabbing women have surfaced) wants to eliminate
the tax rebate for the disabled and elderly- thus
raising taxes for the least able to pay. [more below
fold]
The two hundred or so folks in attendence responded with a standing ovation. Now- why is Mr. Phil talking to a scruffy bunch of activists while the
Gov is presiding over thousand dollar a plate dinners?
Think about it. We will work for FREE. An energized
base is worth a whole lot of money- just ask the current [P]Resident, who will say and do anything to keep his [loopy Freeper] base energized.
