"There are the times that try mens souls", Thomas Paine 1776
The take it on the chin offensive from Bush continues. Christmas presents included coffins and wounded the public is screened from seeing, federal judges and federal appointments with no advice and consent and no screening. They must, however, agree to several litmus tests (skirting the Constitution, uphold the arrest of patriots act, international laws do not apply, 'Abu what' Guantanomo where) and rule by fiat. Bush expects to say it and we all do it. The raid on the US Treasury continues unabated and Social Security is next. Who will benefit? The financial industry. The trees will fall faster and harder, the list goes on..so how do we fight back on Christmas AND BEYOND..read below the fold...

That's how we beat them. Show them up, don't let them get by with betraying the cannon fodder, the 'we go to war with the army we have' and when you come home you get the shaft. Not this time.
This is the time to develop themes and start banging them repeatedly and as often as possible and tie them to local events like collecting the phone cards (which tied into a national effort you may be aware of). National Themes and Local Action:
Let's try a couple:
Stop the Raid on Social Security. Senators, Congressman, Governors, DNC decry the $2 trillion raid on SS and how the financial industry will be the ones to benefit. Local action includes squads of volunteers visiting shut-ins bringing food, coats, medicine, home repair, transportation whatever is needed.
Defend the Constitution. Take a section and an amendment a week and show how it is being undermined. Launch a national media Dare to Tell the Truth effort. Local action includes letters to the editor, public reading of the Declaration of Independence and volunteers visiting civics classes in schools.
You get the idea..these are just rough ideas but the national/local linkage is what I'm suggesting. Kick in some ideas and who knows?
