He's the author of the critically acclaimed, you've-probably-already-read-it work "We Wish to Inform You That Tomorrow We Will Be Killed With Our Families", a tale of the Rwandan genocide and its aftermath.
Gourevitch, in this piece for the New Yorker, excellently outlines the problems with the United Nations at the moment -- problems which have, just a few days after this article's publication, become evident in the wake of the UN's botched relief efforts to tsunami victims.

"No reform can create a community of nations where none exists."
Gourevitch ultimately reaches a different conclusion than I do -- but hopefully that'll allow you all to view the piece with a more unbiased eye? :)
Hope you like it.
