Following up on the posts from Kos and Hunter regarding the new anti-New York Times campaign over the puff piece on Cheney's and Rumsfeld's vacation homes — nice work if you can afford one of those — it turns out that the Times didn't even do a good job of providing sufficient information for anyone with nefarious intent.
When I read Glenn's piece on the new kerfluffle, which I swear to St. Bozo I thought was a parody, I started looking for information that wasn't included in the Times story, and man, I hit the jackpot.
First, there's the street address for Cheney's place. If you want to drop a note to the VP when he's relaxed and has more time for reading, send it to:
Mr. Richard B. Cheney
7879 Fuller Rd
St Michaels, MD 21663
The story gave fairly good driving directions, but if you need better, just enter the full address into a Google Maps search. If you're planning on simply dropping in, you'll be better off with the longitude and latitude than with the street address. And lo, it isn't hard to
find:
Size and location:
Centered on 384547N 0761418W
1-nm-radius TFR up to 1,499 ft AGL
Effective time:
1000 local, November 23 until further notice
Requirements for flight in the TFR:
Aircraft operations are not allowed
Impacted airports:
None
That, of course, is the no-fly information for Cheney's house, which is not only publicly available but is required for any pilot who doesn't want to earn a fine and a stern talking-to. Now, let's see: where was it I heard something about "pilots" and "terrorists" in conjunction? It wasn't the NYT's travel section, I know that much.
But wait, there's more! It turns out that if you know where to look, there's a veritable treasure trove of photos of the house and the surrounding acreage, a few of which I posted on my site.
As Hunter records, some morons have already dug up and posted personal information on the Times photographer, whose sin was shooting a bird house with a camera in it at the foot of Rumsfeld's driveway, as if anyone who gets to the foot of Rumsfeld's driveway won't have more concrete evidence that the place is surveilled.
The problem with these people, Malkin, Hinderaker and whoever's holding down the Plagiarizer-in-Chief slot at Red State these days, is that they think everyone is as stupid as they are. That appears to be true of most of the homicidal degenerates who read their bilious crap, but unfortunately most actual terrorists seem to be a cut above. Meanwhile, if I were Bill Keller I'd have an intern scanning the right-wing ghetto full time to see who at the Times is on their hit list.
