I'm convinced that George Bush is playing the Democratic party like a finely tuned violin. Here we sit whimpering about matters of abortion; I think somewhere there is a sign up in the White House reading, "It's corporate rights, stupid." In other words, we are being systematically distracted by ourselves and our incessant clamouring about abortion rights. Meanwhile, I don't think the White House actually gives a shit, except to say that it works to their advantage.
What else do we have? Is our party equipped to argue against corporate pillaging? Nope. No effort has been made to develop and disseminate arguments about corporate greed. Only Nader has made that argument, and the Democratic party has churned his reputation into one of an eccentric gay capitalism basher. SHAME! All we have is abortion.
I ignored every solicitation asking for my support or money to help fight the Roberts nomination. I knew that the party didn't have the nuts to fight someone as perfectly chosen as him. This time I will give and I will make calls and I will write letters.
In my opinion there is no worse nightmare than having a friend of Bush on the Supreme Court. After all, if we had been flies on their walls we would have heard them say together what Bennett chose to share with the nation. You know they share 'nigger,' fag and Jew jokes together. You know they snickered at the shit in New Orleans. You know their bank accounts are exploding. FUCK MIERS!
