Tomorrow, the June issue of
Vanity Fair goes on sale on New York newsstands. Next week, it will be out nationwide. Steve Clemons of The Washington Note, however, gives us a
preview.
Go out and get the magazine. I don't know what it says (beyond the glimpse Clemons gives), but I know there is a lot about Jeff Gannon/James Guckert and, from what I understand, a good deal on ePluribus Media, the "citizen journalist" group that grew out of SusanG's January post here on dKos calling for research into Gannon after his egregious question at a Bush news conference.
Clemons quotes the article as quoting Gannon/Guckert saying:
"I'm not discredited, not in any way, shape, or form, and that annoys me. Is Dan Rather discredited? I mean, I think he is, but nobody says 'the discredited Dan Rather.'"
According to The American Heritage Dictionary, "discredit," as a verb, means "1. To damage in reputation; disgrace. 2. To cause to be doubted or distrusted. 3. To refuse to believe."
Which of these, I wonder, is Gannon/Guckert not?
