On Saturday night, I saw The Manchurian Candidate - twice - on PBS. Great movie.
On Sunday, I packed up the wife/domestic partner/significant other/spouse/better half/whatever, and off we went to see the New Manchurian Candidate at the theatres.
She liked it. A lot. Better than the original. It hung together better and reflects the times we live in... although she questioned whose agenda it represents.
I didn't. There was so much about the new Manchurian Candidate that I didn't like. Aside from him being obviously a Democrat and a war hero... hmmm... so, he's Kerry and he's on the take from a Halliburton look-alike. It takes away whatever vestige there is of Shaw's honorability. Is this fair and balanced, or is it the Republican answer to F9/11?
