"Things fall apart; the center cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity."
I thought of this line when I heard an interview on our local NPR station with supporters of various candidates, when people with few convictions were saying "I'll switch to Kerry because the press says he's electible."
Charley Krauthammer is laughing somewhere.
I can think of many reasons not to vote for Dean. But "John Kerry is milquetoast" is a pretty sorry rationale.
