Okay so I am watching our local Adelphia Channel here in Los Angeles. Right now there is an interview with Assemblywoman Karen Bass. Karen Bass represents the 47th District of Los Angeles, which is a very diverse district. The 47th District stretches from Westwood down to parts of South LA. She was elected in 2004 and is the only African American woman in the state assembly. I was already impressed with her credentials and campaign (beating corrupt and stupid former LA City Councilman Nate Holden) and her support for Villaraigosa. But I hadn't really gotten a chance to know the real Karen Bass. Bass is a through and through liberal, she's articulate, she has good ideas, and a key understanding of the issues. She's not a lifelong politician either, she's a former South LA Community activist. In this day and age with all the horrible and stupid politicians out there, Karen Bass is a refreshing breath of air. Term Limits have been horrible for California but Bass is a rare example of the good side.
