I just watched the Diane Sawyer interview with Mel Gibson and I have to say the outrage of this movie to me seems to be completly unwarrented. The guy seems to be a truly good guy that is working n a project that was truly dear to him and the outrage by so many on the left has been in my mind reprehensible.
Now i'm as liberal as they come and am certainly no christian. I think that religion is really for the most part a sham but that's just my beleif. I don't give a damn that others have a strong faith and in fact admire many of them. I sometimes wish that I felt as strongly about anything as they do about their faith, but a beleif in something I can't prove just isn't how I choose to live my life.
My main pont is that the left in this country has become way too P.C. and that is my main fault with the left. Too many of us worry about what may offend people and in doing so silence views different than us. We need to stop this. This is our achilles heal. I love offensive jokes and am not ashamed to laugh at them. We should not allow ourselves to fall into a place where the need to not offend takes place of our own human nature. We should not allow the right to use our outlandish sensitivity against us. What do you all think?
