Dean has run one of the tightest best run campaigns I've ever seen for nearly a year now. Then in the span of 24 hours we have three charges of campaign dirty tricks lodged against the Dean campaign from three different sources.
Let's see. In each of the cases one or more campaign volunteers saying they're acting on behalf of the Dean campaign make amateurish attempts at espionage or election fraud and then do nothing to cover their tracks.
This looks too coordinated to be entirely random. I think it's definitely in the realm of possibility to think all of these stories have been planted by rival campaigns to make Dean look bad.
So I ask, who do you think is really behind these incidents if you accept the premise that the Dean campaign wouldn't actually want to shoot itself in the face with such easily tracable dirty tricks?
I think the good money is on Rove, but after the anti-Dean Osama ad that was tacitly supported by Dean's rivals, I wouldn't put it past another campaign.
