BUSH AND NEWSPEAK DIPLOMACY
By Peter Fredson
January 19, 2006
Most of us know that Bush not only mangles phrases, but he manipulates the meaning of ordinary words, twisting them beyond recognition in some sick paraphrase designed to further his imperial ambitions. For instance, he seems to blast ordinary but "sacred" words in the US into unrecognizable rubble. Democracy, liberty, freedom, and sovereignty have been mangled and distorted far from any legitimate meaning.
Democracy for Bush is pointing a gun at an Iraqi woman, and then blowing her head off. Liberty is putting Abu Ghraib prisoners in chains, genitals connected to electrodes, suspending them by their thumbs, and joyfully abusing them without any restrictions.
Sovereignty is the invasion of a conquering army into a small country with shock and awe, the destruction of all authority in a country, the looting of all resources, and the assigning of many "advisors" and "diplomats" into that country to force them to kneel to Emperor George. Compassion is giving a chocolate bar to an orphan whose father you just tortured to death.
"Diplomacy" itself is a multi-abused word by Bush. It surely means by his criteria to ignore all advice, to "go it alone", to bribe UN countries for votes, to withhold support until demands are met, to blast "foreigners", to insult "lesser peoples", and to act as though only neocons may have any privileges beyond that of living. It means to act, in Leo Strauss terms, without pity or compassion like "losers."
It means to be able to strut and swagger after some obscene act of violence and brutality, and to revel in sadistic torture and abuse. It means inviolability against any law, to act as though the Supreme Creator of the Universe just patted Bush on the head and said, "Good job, George. Way to go, George."
If anyone has any knowledge at the entire rise of Adolph Hitler, they can easily find that GWB is replicating many of the same steps toward fame and power.
Sovereignty is the imposition of legal documents exempting Bush and anyone in his administration from any blame, responsibility, or culpability forever for his felonious actions. Sovereignty is stealing the resources of a country and turning them over via no-contract theft to corrupt corporations which will be under no surveillance or inspections and have no accountability for any action.
Sovereignty is forcing a small nation under violent duress to genuflect to a petulant, irritable, irresponsible, dry-drunk, child of privilege who must never be criticized or contradicted under severe penalties.
"Staying the course" means George has either has no plan for entrance or exit into any place he invades and doesn't know what-in-hell to do, or perhaps he really doesn't want to go because if he declares a war is over, then he is no longer war president and the masquerade of his swaggering and strutting must come to an end along with spying, abusing, torturing, kidnapping, secret jails, and a hundred other devices with which his sycophant Senators are helping him to destroy our democracy in favor of a fascist-like corporate crony capitalism supported by loony fundamentalists who want a modern theocracy to eradicate all countervailing modes of thought or belief.
Another move toward world dominance was announced today. The headlines read:
US to shift diplomats from Europe to Asia
"America must begin to reposition our diplomatic forces around the world," the US secretary of state Condoleezza Rice said in a speech to students at Georgetown University on Wednesday (18 January), the BBC reported."
Condi stated that this is part of the neocon strategy for a "transformational diplomacy, which seeks and supports the growth of democratic movement and institutions, with the ultimate goal of ending tyranny in our world."
Disregarding the fact that tyranny in our world is largely spread by the neocons, what the bureaucratic gobbledy-gook really means is "We are going to impose Bush rule on the entire world, and if they don't like it they know they can take a flying fkkk at it."
This is usually said by holding up one finger, Bush style, in defiance of all rules and regulations.
"Ms Rice added that US deployment of diplomatic staff should respond to changes in international politics after the end of the Cold War, with new threats emerging "more within states than between them."
What she really means is that anyone who objects can find shock and awe coming to their homes, destruction and death to their population, with great profits for war mongers.
"The fundamental character of regimes now matters more than the international distribution of power," concluded Ms Rice.
We fully agree. The fundamental arrogant character of the Bush regime now demands regime change, as it is completely contrary to all civilized conduct, values, and norms.
We are tired of daily lies, misinformation, stealth, aggressivity, lawlessness, spying, kidnapping, indefinite detention, ignorance, creationism, environmental stupidity, carelessness, crony incompetence, bull-dozing and railroading for the benefit of cowardly warmongers and strutting interloper con-artists.
When Condi looked at the TV camera, unblinking, in her nice new black shoes, she said that the idea is "to help transform developing countries into democracies and to fight terrorism."
It shows her ability to obfuscate, bureaucratize, and stupefy and audience by skillful lying into getting Bush out of trouble with polls. Fighting terrorism has been mostly failure, with a lot more success in fomenting terrorism around the globe.
Killing Muslims may be nice for Christian Fundamentalists to hear, but any Muslim whose family was killed by Bush troops must take vengeance. He doesn't seem to know that simple fact, but on the other hand he is no soldier, went AWOL, but still struts as though he ever completed any job he under took.
When Condi said: ''We must begin to lay the diplomatic foundations to secure a future of freedom for all people.", those who have followed the Bush rhetoric know that the future for anyone but Neocons is exceedingly bleak.
Rice says she wants to "shift people into more critical strategic areas so that we have more of a presence."
Again, what she really means is they want to be able to send troops immediately with full armor, planes, tanks, cannon, etc to any place in the world where people might oppose any resistance. The Bush people would like American troops in every country in the world to protect their investments.
Condi mentioned, almost as an aside that one of the benefits would be to fight poverty. We suggest that she dedicate herself 100% to our own domestic needs.
We have quite a few poor, homeless, and helpless people in the U.S. But somehow Bush has overlooked them, and Condi is too busy lying her little head off about CIA jails and abuse to worry about such mundane things as poverty or sickness. She also mentioned helping "foreign citizens to strengthen the rule of law, start businesses, improve health and reform education." I must take this as a form of sadistic sarcasm of the Bush people. What in the world would "the rule of law" be for the Bushites??
Another surely sarcastic note under a photo of Condi states "Rice says the move will promote democratic change. "
We remember the Newspeak interpretation of "democratic" so can appreciate what will really happen. She means the imposition of the neocon agenda on the world, the extension of dictatorial arrogance to every country in the world, the doctrine of preemptive strikes whereby cruise missiles will fill the sky for any country that dares to stand up to Bush aggressivity, and the railroading or bullying of what will sarcastically be called "diplomats" all looking like bushy-tailed monster John Bolton.
A previous president promised a chicken in every pot, but Bush promises a "diplomat" in every palace or mansion, heavily guarded by a battalion of troops, mercenaries, advisors, proselytizers and assorted thugs.
This move bodes very ill for the world. No possible good can come from this, but an awful lot of neocon mischief will result, as they try to achieve world domination by cowardly warhawks, deceit, lies, misinformation, stealth, imposition and American troops in every back yard. Again, all this hoopla and jingoism seems more like sadistic propaganda for the delight of ignorant Republican voters.
We cannot, as American citizens, advise other countries what to do about this exceedingly ominous move toward world dominance other than to say: Watch your back for the Rice Dagger, the Bush destabilizing strategy, the Rumsfeld cruise missile and CIA spies, the drone planes, the wire tapping of your innermost secrets, the bribing of your legislators. Beware the Ides of March.
Their word has no credence, no backing other than imperialist designs on other countries. They do NOT wish other countries well but use well-wishing as a ploy to conquer.
We know that Iran and Syria were on the Bush agenda for conquest as far back as 2001 and that now little Condi threatens them almost daily, trying to find an excuse for Bush to send troops or missiles there. Those b---tards never give up.
The neocons have a lust for power. The rest is window-dressing for suckers.
