The
recent events seem almost
orchestrated,
In his 1961 Farewell Address, Gen Eisenhower railed against both the military-industrial complex, and the education-research complex. The following words, frequently censored from the textbooks, ended with this warning, "... in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite."
Less known, is President Eisenhower's warning of the
second much more powerful group in the next paragraph of his Farewell Address. He warned of the covert and dangerous
"Educational-Research Complex" (ERC). Almost nobody has ever heard of this group. Which is a story in and of itself. Most copies of Eisenhower's 1961 Farewell Address in textbooks, or in electronic form on webpages, omit that second paragraph. The primary source of funding for the Educational-Research Complex is large Foundations such as the rightwing think tanks some already know about (however many do not) e.g. the usual suspects. The "Educational", "Ideological" writers and publishers of the textbooks, white papers etc... (many that have been written about here on dkos as of late) such as
John M. Olin Foundation,
Smith Richardson Foundation, and little known
Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation ,
Hudson Institute the degrees of seperation is not lost on many. Though many of these foundations have with ties to energy and biotechnology and finally the
The Hoover Institution among others. The John M. Olin Foundation and Smith Richardson Foundation, both of whom funded
Samuel P. Huntington's (the neocon bible) entitled
Clash of Civilizations. The 'Clash of Civilizations', as commenter
Christopher Day reminds us, "is to U.S. foreign policy what "The Bell Curve" is to domestic policy. High-priced racist academic hackery in the service of power and profit." These rightwing platonic 'philosopher kings' such as
Dr. John Francis Hillen Leo Strauss, Bernard Lewis, and Samuel P. Huntington are the godfathers of PNAC,
Hudson Institute,
Aspen Strategy Group,(I. Lewis Scooter Libby/Judith Miller?),
the Lincoln Group.
Perhaps the most recent stunning example of the shadow of the hegemon matrixes of the ERC is dairist hunters'recent front page post entitled:
A Million Tiny Strands
According to these (ERC) players, there is no such thing as "military victory", only total war as seen through the eye's of karl von Clausewitz. Clausewitz, is noted for asigning "war as politics by other means." whose strategy has found new advocates in the US and Israel. Richard Pearl, (one of the founders of the Project for the New American Century) or PNAC along with Paul Wolfowitz have led us into the gates of hell. Since 9/11, this strategy has found new advocates in the U.S. Richard Pearl, is known in Washington by the affectionate moniker the "Prince of Darkness" and advocate for describing America's "war on terror" as 'total war', Pearl, a member of the Bush administration's Defense Policy Board co-authored a book suggesting the "kill `em all, and let God sort it out" strategy. They are "intellectually dishonest" and have a "cultural pathology" of Noble lies and perpetual wars. What is the end game? Many believe the end game, -the goal that they are working to herd us all into-, be it kicking and screaming, is to win (in their minds) the paradigm war otherwise known as the fully realized Rove Republic, or the ultimate Godhead, the Corporate-State. These demagogues are sucking us up into their mad i.e. delusional, revolutionary ideals of the ulimate Gotterdamnrung, the last battle of good vs evil; the
proverbial 'final solution'. The "collapse anxiety" you feel is what they want you to feel, it's part the process, the anatomy of totalitarianism. The modus operandi of the tyrant is fear on every level. On the surface, it is the fear of "terrorists". Below the surface, it is the fear of being designated a "terrorist".
Wiretaps, loss of Civil Rights and liberties, Guantanamo Bay, Abu Ghraib, Jose Padilla, ghost detainees, the open secret about US-sponsored torture, Secret No-Fly lists, et cetera, ad nauseum do not, let me repeat not, represent damage to the political capital of the neocon administration. Those who oppose these things are also cowed by them and those who do not oppose these things revel in the fact that we are doing them. Stories like these hurt the administration not one tiny iota and are carried out and leaked to us with malicious forethought. It simultaneously quells domestic dissent and shores the domestic hawk base. Win/Win if you are a sociopath.
We are shocked by these gross displays of inhumanity and machine gun fire non-stop barrage of social-economic incidences because we are supposed to be shocked and overwhelmed by them. This permanent siege mentality, is all part of The military doctrine of full-spectrum dominance.
These NeoNazi tenets in a sick dogma are seeking to justify and resurrect everything that humanity screams through history to escape from. All as "Murder for Profit" or 'the Profit jehad'. They do their malicious and arrogant polemics in service of the one political ideology. Which is nothing more that hypocrisy hiding behind law and academia.
All of whom also control the media, and have very carefully excised warning about themselves. Thus, as the former Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Michael Kevin Powell, son of 65th Secretary of State Gen. Colin Powell they all have the same intended goal. However, now we have Kevin Martin a Bush appointee; all in service of a cabal.
Nonetheless, they have become a much larger, more insidious, factor in controlling governments here at home around the world. At the end of WWII these research project groups and their laboratories did not simply vanish. Unlike the military-industrial complex, which must report to Congressional Oversight Committees, the educational-research complex does not. It's because military people have sworn to uphold the laws of the land and, to protect the people. Private firms, funded via black-ops, have no such restrictions.
Let us now look at the `diversionary tactics' I have concluded to be methodology for `social-programming,'which in itself is a complex `diversionary tactic' utilized at home and abroad. A binary two pronged assault on "we the people".
Does the above opinions and the conclusions drawn from them seem ... impossible? Lets look deeper:
Benjamin Franklin said it first, "...by keeping the People fearful and suspicious of each other, they remain ignorant of what their leaders are doing." Forget about what they are telling you ... the clues are in what they don't!
COINTELPRO documents, recovered through the Freedom of Information Act, reveal this same pattern of abusive psy-war has been used to manipulate City Councils and local governments for literally decades.
That's why it is the obvious conclusion that the military alone is not solely responsible for these atrocities, nor is it the ERC, but both overlapping the other:
The Bush Administration's Psy-Ops on the US Public
June 22 , 2005
An Interview with Col. Sam Gardiner
am Gardiner has taught strategy and military operations at the National War College, Air War College and Naval War College. He was recently a visiting scholar at the Swedish Defence College. During Gulf II he was a regular on the NewsHour with Jim Lehrer as well as on BBC radio and television, and National Public Radio. He authored "The Enemy is Us" an article describing how the Bush Administration used disinformation and psychological warfare - weapons usually used against the 'enemy' - against the American public in order to support the war in Iraq. He has done an extensive analysis of the media coverage before the war, during the war and during the occupation as well as of the statements of Administration officials. His conclusions are startling and of great concern. He has put his findings in a report entitled: "Truth from These Podia".
Why Were Government Propaganda Experts Working On News At CNN?: Historical outreach?
Reports in the Dutch newspaper Trouw (2/21/00, 2/25/00) and France's Intelligence Newsletter (2/17/00) have revealed that several officers from the US Army's 4th Psychological Operations (PSYOPS) Group at Ft. Bragg worked in the news division at CNN's Atlanta headquarters last year, starting in the final days of the Kosovo War.
In the U.S. media, so far only Alexander Cockburn, columnist for The Nation and co-editor of the newsletter CounterPunch, has picked up on the story. Cockburn's column on the subject is available at www.counterpunch.org.
The story is disturbing. In the 1980s, officers from the 4th Army PSYOPS group staffed the National Security Council's Office of Public Diplomacy (OPD), a shadowy government propaganda agency that planted stories in the U.S. media supporting the Reagan Administration's Central America policies.
A senior US official described OPD as a "vast psychological warfare operation of the kind the military conducts to influence a population in enemy territory." (Miami Herald, 7/19/87) An investigation by the congressional General Accounting Office found that OPD had engaged in "prohibited, covert propaganda activities," and the office was soon shut down as a result of the Iran-Contra investigations. But the 4th PSYOPS group still operates.
CNN has always maintained a close relationship with the Pentagon. Getting access to top military officials is a necessity for a network that stakes its reputation on being first on the ground during wars and other military operations.
What makes the CNN story especially troubling is the fact that the network allowed the Army's covert propagandists to work in its headquarters, where they learned the ins and outs of CNN's operations. Even if the PSYOPS officers working in the newsroom did not influence news reporting, did the network allow the military to conduct an intelligence-gathering mission against CNN itself?
For instance, one PSYOPS officer worked in CNN's satellite division. According to Intelligence Newsletter, rear admiral Thomas Steffens, a psychological warfare expert in the Special Operations Command, recently told a PSYOPS conference that the military needed to find ways to "gain control" over commercial news satellites to help bring down an "informational cone of silence" over regions where special operations were taking place.
An unofficial strategy paper published by the U.S. Naval War College in 1996 and written by an Army officer ("Military Operations in the CNN World: Using the Media as a Force Multiplier") urged military commanders to find ways to "leverage the vast resources of the fourth estate" for the purposes of "communicating the [mission's] objective and endstate, boosting friendly morale, executing more effective psychological operations, playing a major role in deception of the enemy, and enhancing intelligence collection."
PR Meets Psy-Ops in War on Terror
The use of misleading information as a military tool sparks debate in the Pentagon. Critics say the practice puts credibility at stake.

With these articles insofar as they present propaganda as being merely a tool by which the military convinces the public of the need for war. The reality is more sinister. The war itself is a propaganda operation. The war does not necessitate propaganda. Propaganda necessitates the war. Propaganda has gone from simply being a weapon of war to being the central organizing principle of the state.
Which is to say it isn't weird that PR.opaganda men have been called in to work on the domestic message. It is business as usual.
It's a different group, comprised of both sides above, and others that have the money, the manpower, and strings to fully manipulate us all. And the most enormous ironic perversion is that the U.S. tax payer pays for it.
