I'm going to keep this rather short, but I have two points to make that have been bugging me.
First, has any conservative anywhere ever read "The Art of War"? Well they need to read this line if they haven't.
All warfare is based on deception.
Are we really supposed to believe that OBL is making his intentions and positions obvious to us? Is he a murderous thug, yes, is he a fool, no. Had he been a fool we would have already dragged his corpse down Pennsylvania Avenue in a parade. Is his intention to play the left against the right to distract while he mounts another attack? Is he using this to hasten the withdrawl from Iraq?
Second, do conservatives have a brain? The next time I hear "if we don't fight them over there were going to fight them over here" I will probably shoot blood out my ears. It's not a god damn German Panzer division sitting in Canada. Terrorism and terrorists don't work like that. There was only 5 on each plane during the 9/11 attacks. War in Iraq isn't stopping one person with a bomb strapped to their chest from blowing themselves up in Grand Central and killing hundreds.
I guess my position is to implore conservatives to start thinking like adults about this, but then again if they did think like adults, they wouldn't be conservatives.
