I see this week a new, well at least I've never seen him on here before, member of the community has joined us. I think it is quite cool that Mr. Kerry chose to join. And I must say it is rather exciting to be able to direct comments at and get responces from our party leaders and officials.
It gives me a sense of pride in them and makes one feel like they really are listening and aren't diconnected from their voters. And more importantly to me, makes me think that they do at least understand and recognize current technology trends. *Just a hint, anyone who understands the internet could realize it gets by on its own without the help of legislation. Especially legislation that makes it illagal to post any annoying communication anonymously.
But anyway, to the point....
We have several high profile members here a Daily Kos. We see Mr. Conyers post on a regular basis, now Mr. Kerry, and we've even seen Mr. Kennedy show up. There are many others as well. Mr. Obama was kind enough to pay attention to the community, but unfortunately, not many people welcomed his participation.
We also have other state and various local officials as well. Personally, I really enjoy the fact that they post here. And being I'm not on all that much at times, I will sometimes miss them if they don't stay on the reccomended list very long.
What I think would be a great idea is to store their entries in a special "On The Record" section. Of course it could be named something more marketable, but you get they idea. I would hope their diaries are still entered and reccomended as normal, but it would be nice if all our celebrity diaries were archived in an easy to use section of the site.
Perhaps the section could be organized by name and make sure to include email links and links to their personal site and forums.
And have a link to that archive on the right hand side along with the Dkosopedia. I don't know if anyone else agrees, just throwing it out there. I think it's great to be able to communicate with our representatives on a more personal level than just their pre-prepared bulk mail. I think since they have chosen to take the time to communicate with us in such a way, we should encourage that communication as much as possible. What do you think?
Note: When I say celebrity posters, more accurately I mean high profile Democratic party members. Former and current. Didn't mean to include high profile bloggers, I stay away from that argument.
