A correspondent on a non-political board who has flipped his position on Iraq gave me a link to the Bush Administration's November 2005 overview of policy and progress in Iraq.
Administration Iraq Document
After sifting through the propaganda parts, one almost doesn't know where to begin the critique. It is, as they say, a target-rich environment.
I suppose one can note the complete lack of any mention of any Shiite groups in the section beginning on page 6 "Our Enemies and Their Goals."
The Fantasyland nature of the "Build" components for the Political,
Security, and Economic tracks.
The overall disconnect with reality on the ground in the "Our Strategy for Victory" section beginning on page 7.
The metrics used for measuring success in Iraq on page 13 require not just rose-colored glasses but bionic optical implants seeing far into the infrared.
The propaganda prose aside, reading this left me with total incredulity, as in, "They reallly believe this shit?" It does explain much of nature of the White House & Pentagon press releases about Iraq.
Holy Moly.
There's too much detail me to expound upon here but feel free to quote your favorites and dissect.
