"The president's tax policies have strengthened the economy, as we knew they would," Cheney told the conference, according to a text posted on the White House's Web site. "And despite forecasts to the contrary, the tax cuts have translated into higher federal revenues."
"It's time to reexamine our assumptions and to consider using more dynamic analysis to measure the true impact of tax cuts on the American economy," Cheney said, explaining why Bush has proposed the new Treasury Department division. "The evidence is in, it's time for everyone to admit that sensible tax cuts increase economic growth and add to the federal treasury."
DICK, we need to talk. You see, there is a website you can visit called the
Congressional Budget Office. Hey - what am I saying -
DICK can
call them and ask for the facts. I know - they get in the way of your mantra which is an easy sell because it promises something for nothing.
You see, DICK, in the year 2001 (the first year of your tax cuts) total Federal Revenue from individual taxpayers was 994 billion. In 2005, total revenue from individual taxpayers was 927 billion. Maybe there's some new Republican math that I don't know about DICK but where I come from 927 is less than 994. Then of course there is individual tax revenue as a percentage of GDP, DICK. According to the same website, individual revenue from taxpayers as a percentage of GDP has dropped from 9.9% to 7.5%. That also looks like a decrease to me, DICK. (I forgot. I was educated by Jesuits and they are just so liberal they have confused my analytical abilities).
Of course, there is also this report from the CBO that says:
If all of the tax provisions that are scheduled to expire were extended together, the revenue projection for 2006 would be about 11.5 billion lower. That revenue loss would grow to 57 billion in 2007 and to 106 billion in 2010, before jumping to 254 billion in 2011 and then reaching 455 billion in 2016. For the entire 2007-2016 period, projected revenues would be reduced by about 2.64 trillion.
By the way DICK, you can look at the same chart to see how much your "fiscally responsible" party is spending. Let's see what those figures are DICK. According to the CBO (which has obviously been infiltrated by liberals to make you look bad DICK), discretionary spending was 649 billion in 2001 and 947 billion in 2005. DICK, that looks like an increase of 45% to me. Again - maybe I'm just too liberal to see the "real" numbers. Y'know something DICK - that increase is a lot larger than Clinton's. His discretionary spending was 539 billion in 1993 and 614 billion in 2000 - an increase of 13%. In fact, DICK, your "fiscally responsible" discretionary spending increase is over three times as large as those "tax and spend" liberals.
Face it DICK. You're a lying shill. I know...."deficits don't matter." That is until they do, you asshole.
And to Nell Henderson who wrote the article you're just as guilty in this scam. Where the hell is your fact-checking? Is www.cbo.gov too complicated for you? No internet access at work?
