It's a huge day for democracy (the old fashioned kind-- where citizens have a say) in California. In calling the Senators in CA to request they subpoena the election industry, I discovered the most pleasant staffers (even at the republican offices) willing to listen and eager to hear a voters point of view.  Where am I?  Not only that--they report they're inundated with calls/emails and all leaning towards the issue.  Thanks to all our efforts. In other words, it's working..

I need to remind you that if you haven't already -- please get on the phone, the fax or the keyboards and make those five little calls or messages to the Rules Committee urging them to subpoena the voting industry insiders and testing labs to come forth and testify UNDER OATH ... to perhaps shed some light on why they have been lying to us for oh-so long.

Please see http://www.dailykos.com/...  My weekend Diary for more background information if you need it and McPherson's recent reinstatement of Diebold.

Again:  Here is your contact list for the Rules Committee, you need not be Californian:  Urge support for subpoenas of election industry and certification insiders who didn't testify on the 16th.

IT'S ONLY 5 CALLS/ EMAILS

Be concise, be polite, be professional. Here's your message: ask for "Rules Committee support for subpoenas of election industry and certification insiders who won't otherwise inform the Elections Committee as to what's going on".

The key people:  Diebold head programmers, federal testing labs (Ciber, Wyle) that repeatedly certified these flawed systems, voting system examiners who took taxpayer money, spent hours on  so-called "security exams" on systems your 12-year old sister can hack, then repeatedly recommended for certification.

This is about volume of calls logged, emails sent.  Not only should YOU make calls, but this needs to go out to your list.

Polite, professional, short clear message, FIRM is what works. Your passion and conviction will speak volumes.

Once subpoenas go out, that will have nationwide impact. Never before have the key witnesses had to answer questions under oath in public.  That will unravel the garment, and we are so close.  Demonstrate that the citizenry of America wants those guys compelled to testify, with subpoena power, under oath.  Per Bev Harris..."Perjury will follow".  It's our best shot that is achievable before the critical Nov. elections.

You can take a moment to help prevent California from falling into the Red Sea.  Won't that be fun?!

This is so easy that there is literally not one good reason not to do it.  Multi-taskers: you can make these calls while you work, garden, make coffee, polish your silver or feed the cat....

You will feel so good once you've phoned and heard the impact we are having on this most vital issue.  You will feel (almost) like you live in a representative democracy... almost.  Guaranteed.

Money back if you don't.  Call my people.

If you're not fully indoctrinated on the electronic election story and want to learn more, I direct you to (OK it happens to be mine) an excellent website on all things electoral... Who's Counting? where you can peruse 16 Chapters and read what piques your interest most. It was one year in the making - designed to be a Primer for the uninitiated.  For the advanced class-- see BlackBoxVoting and VoteTrustUSA for updated news.

Thanks to all of you who've called and emailed already. And to those who have not-- Go to your phone now.  You can actually get through. It's not like calling the beltway.  It's more like... calling Mayberry.  Try it.

And thank you deeply, in 100 languages and 53 dialects, if you've already done so.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
