As someone who has attempted to do this "internet thing" for a bit, I am always taken a-back, actually, I get pretty pissed when I read people like Carol Darr talk about us as extremists. It's almost as if they think we sit infront of the computer at home or at work with bandanas over our mouths and send messages to our friends by carrier pigeon for fear that our phone conversations about the local DFA meetup might be tapped.
One of the greatest blessings for any campaign staffer that "does internet" (that isn't some remotely based consultant) is our ability to get our hands dirty in the field ... meeting and talking with you extremists on a daily basis. It was great with Jeff Seemann, a whole lot of fun with Chuck Pennacchio, inspiring with Sherrod Brown and Paul Hackett, and continues to provide my greatest moments of joy at the DNC.
That's why Carol Darr and those of like-mind anger me so, cause I've met a good number of you ... and I'd like to introduce them.
Democracy Bond Holders
Ohhhh those radical extremists willing to part with small dollar contributions every month in order to fund a Democratic Party fighting in each and every one of the fifty states. Our graphic designer, Jessica, put together a beautiful montage of Democracy Bond holders complete with photos and testimonials. Clicking on the photo takes you where you need to go -- but make sure you come back!!
Back? Alright, now I'd like to respectfully ask you to visit this link and tell Jessica how much you enjoyed the presentation. Then come back again ... cause I have more liberal extremism to show you.
Back again? Good!
Here are some more, in their own words ...

Not Democracy Bond Holders: Tom Noe & Wife with George Bush
Funny story about Mrs. Noe, she was actually asked to resign as an election official in Lucas County, Ohio because of "extreme" voting problems during the 2004 election. Take a guess at how bad it was... Seriously ... Ken Blackwell asked her to resign, that's how bad.

So there you have it. Whenever I read articles like the one that quoted Carol Darr, I always think back to those I have met personally on my travels, and get a bit angry. As was noted in the comments of the entry Markos posted on the front page, we are just people who care enough about our country that we do what we can to help make a difference. I guess in a Republican controlled congress that profits from supressing the number of ballots cast and muddying the waters so much that people don't care ... I guess that does make us a relatively rare bunch.

If you haven't already, grab a Democracy Bond. $10 a month goes a long long long way in funding the fifty state strategy. Just ask Governor Dean:
