I am so tired of the Bush Administration trying to use Jimmy Carter's opinion to defend the transference of port operations to Dubai.
Let's face it, Jimmy Carter is a nice intellectual fellow, but how on earth can we call him an authority on the Middle East?

Let's face it, Jimmy Carter is a nice intellectual fellow, but how on earth can we call him an authority on the Middle East? Isn't this the man who made mistake after mistake and turned the Iranians into our mortal enemies? Isn't this the man who went to Iran and refered to the Shah of Iran as the "beloved leader of the Iranian people"...even as his secret police were brutally attacking the Iranian people in a way that would encourage the Iranian people to embrace radicallism in a way the world had never seen before? They are talking about THAT Jimmy Carter aren't they?
OK, so he was a democrat, and he has a quiet non-offensive demeaner, but isn't Jimmy Carter the one who led the Globalism train? Wasn't he the first president to declare a territorial right to defend the oil supply with war?
Obviously Jimmy Carter sees the Dubai takeover as a great step toward civilized Global corporate security forces led by multinational smart gentlemen. The idea being that these are not "America's Ports"...they are the "World's ports". Self-determination is for suckers who don't understand market economics, and the free-market is ALWAYS benevolent. Isn't that the Jimmy Carter we're talking about?
