Quite the busy news day for a Friday...
- C&L has an embarrassing 1990 video of Rush Limbaugh sweating bullets as he deals with an audience that actually challenges him. After that performance, it's no wonder he retreated to the one-way communication of radio where all his callers are screened.
- Speaking of screened calls, O'Reilly whines about liberals who dare call into his show, and sics the FOX Security guards on his callers. "Harassment" O'Reilly says. Well, if anyone is familiar with harassment laws, it must be Mr. Falafel himself, no?
- Mardi Gras is over, but the devastation remains. A delegation of House Democrats are in NOLA and are blogging their experiences. Kossack TheBlaz has a similiar take on NOLA's citizens here.
- Too much wingnuttery for one day. Via Atrios, we learn Missouri is considering a bill making Christianity the state's official religion. Mississippi is set to follow in South Dakota's footsteps and ban almost all abortions. Tony Blair proclaims God led him to invade Iraq. In Kentucky, state legislators are asked to go on record as to whether they've "accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior." Separation of church and what again?
- Cue the Friday night news dump. The government reveals the names of hundreds imprisoned in Gitmo.
- The Palestinian Authority gives us a $30 million refund.
- Get your pre-Oscar fix at Oscar.com. I like the style section. Well, everything except the photo of Bjork's swan outfit.
