I won't have much (if any) time to respond to comments on this diary, as I have to get back out into the field. But I just wanted to post a quick diary to show WHY I feel so strongly that Cegelis will win today.
This snapshot (below the fold) of poll results, currently running in the (Suburban Chicago) Daily Herald, pretty much tells the story:
Keep in mind that many of the people voting in this poll are the same people who will be going to the polls today to choose a replacement for Henry Hyde. And these people are far less concerned about the Iraq war (and presumably those "tough on national defense") than they are about their own wallets.
It seems Rahm Emanuel has forgotten one of the most important lessons that his mentor, David Wilhelm, taught him..."It's The ECONOMY, Stupid!"
