Maybe this got covered elsewhere on the site, but I didn't see it.
Anyhow, a major Syriana flashback happened when I read that the Asian workers in Dubai who are building what is to be the world's tallest tower rioted today over working conditions and pay.

These guys, who are such geniuses in how they manage their own workforce, were to be entrusted with any part of our infrastructure ?
The Burj Dubai
http://www.burjdubai.com/ is not only supposed to be the biggest thing on the planet when it's done, but the anchor of hip and happening Downtown Dubai.
It's hard to believe what's going on over there, and that we're really supposed to go along with it.
The Asian workers did a million dollars worth of damage and the issues are far from resolved. Pay is miserable-- $4 to $7 a DAY-- living and working conditions are horrible, passports are confiscated so the workers can't leave. A real paragon of virtues this UAE bunch.
By the way, there was NOTHING about this on any news program I saw tonight. You ?
