Has anyone else seen evidence, like I have, that Republican House staffers are quietly looking for alternate employment? I work in an industry that does a reasonable amount of work with the federal government. I am serving on one panel of a search committee to hire a new employee. I was surprised by the number of long-time staffers working in Republican slots on House Committees who are suddenly looking to broaden their career horizons. One interviewee mentioned how a wide number of his peers were looking for employment in political positions in government agencies (guaranteed Republican through 2008). Is this a coincidence, or does anyone else have similar information? If it is a trend, it is a very encouraging sign.
