I was listening to archives of Mike Malloy and his stand-in mentioned again that Democrats have a very diverse agenda. I have heard this before and it is always made to sound like we are competing. I don't believe this is the case.
Republicans message is easy, control (power) and money. They drive down wages to impress the stockholders, and then give trivial tax cuts to the little guy...everyone feels they're getting money back. They want to seal the borders on the surface, that makes the backhills, gun rack folks happy, but really they love illegal labor bacause it increases competition for jobs and drives down salaries. The go to war claiming "freedom's on the march", when really it's instability and chaos that are on the march. Then they can go in and micro manage small profitable pockets of the waring country's economy to our corporation's advantage, yet the uninformed hold their heads up high because we are spreading American ideals, and freeing the oppressed. So on and so forth.
The Democrat message is simple but unfotunately applies to a lot of small battles. Democrats want to live happy and healthy. This includes, safe neighborhoods (rather than gated neighborhoods), an educated populous, good foreign relations and freedom to travel the world safely (vs waving an American Flag and never traveling outside the country). We want good healthcare. We want clean parks to visit, clean water to swim in and drink. We want religious freedom to warship flatware if that's our thing. And we crave to diddle away our off work ours in pleasure. We want to build physics experiments in our basements rather than plug away on the computer formulating business strategies for tomorrows meetings. We want to fix the lawnmower ourselves rather than pay someone to do it, even though it would be more economical to pay someone. We want to spend time with our families rather than drink the night away because our day was so stressful.
We don't have too many agenda's, we just don't have it tied together with words just yet.
