Okay, so this is the weirdest thing I have seen in a while.
The White House is collecting wastewater samples to test for cocaine from a Virginia county's wastewater treatment plant.
Now, why does the White House want to know how much cocaine people in Virginia are doing? Are they advancing the War on Drugs, while removing funding for it? Or, are there other motives involved?
Journalist Gary Webb, who later "committed suicide" by shooting himself TWICE in the head, wrote a series of articles about the ties the CIA has to drug-smuggling cartels in Nicaragua and elsewhere.
From Wikipedia:
On July 23, 1998, the Justice Department released a report by its Inspector General, Michael Bromwich. The Bromwich report claimed that the Reagan-Bush administration was aware of cocaine traffickers in the contra movement and did nothing to stop the criminal activity. The report also revealed a pattern of discarded leads and witnesses, sabotaged investigations, instances of the CIA working with drug traffickers, and the discouragement of DEA investigations into contra-cocaine shipments. The CIA's refusal to share information about contra drug trafficking with law-enforcement agencies was also documented. The Bromwich report corroborated Webb's investigation into Norwin Meneses, a Nicaraguan drug smuggler.
This is so intriging to me! Why are they taking these samples? Is it just a way to analyze their market? Are they going to start testing every wastewater plant to determine their best markets?
Oh, and I learned, for the first time, that GW was accused of rape in 2002? (The link will not work...) The accuser later, as well, "committed suicide" too? Wow, I found that researching the Contra affair.
Is there no depths this administration will not sink to? Apparently not....
I've discovered so many bodies in the wake of the Bush family that I am going to do a diary on. Oodles and oodles of people inconvenient to their agenda have "committed suicide" - so scary. But since I started this diary about cocaine, here's some more about that:
The study being done in Virginia was first done in Italy. They had done surveys which indicated 15,000 in the community used cocaine monthly; the results of the wastewater study showed that there were 40,000 users daily!
Now it would be great to believe the study is for altruistic principles, but who are we kidding? Has the Bush White House ever done anything with altruistic goals? Pah.
