The latest official story from Howard Kaloogian on that pesky photo mix-up is now
available and here's the bottom line:
"You're being really picky on this stuff," Kaloogian told me. "It's not that big a deal. It was a mistake. I'm sorry."
Turkey, Baghdad...who knew? Kaloogian explains that everyone shared pictures, he doesn't know who took it, it was his webmaster's mistake, the dog ate his homework, blah, blah, blah...of course he doesn't explain how the picture from Turkey was taken since they were never in Turkey on the trip.
Let's look at Howard's summer vacation in Iraq...but since we already know he's a liar, let's get the perspective of someone who made the tour with him...the tour ironically named, "The Voices of Soldiers Truth Tour."
One of the whack-a-doodles that traveled with Howard was
Martha Zoller of Rightalk and almost the first thing she said seemed to show another lie by Mr. Kaloogian:
Our group...began the week hoping to get one day in Iraq. We spent 4 life-changing days...
And from Kaloogian's apology?
"I just returned from a 10-day trip to Iraq," begins GOP candidate Howard Kaloogian's Web essay on his experiences visiting troops in the country.
Apparently Howard counted the six travel days as part of his 10-day trip. Are you getting to the point where if Howard says grass is green you'll be checking out your lawn? Anyway, let's look at some excerpts from Martha's diary, from their arrival in Iraq:
We arrived at the air terminal, boarded the plane in full gear and landed with a combat landing in Iraq about 2 hours later. We were taken in a secure convoy to Camp Victory. [...]
Some of us went to the Green Zone and went on operations with soldiers and marines inside the zone now called the International Zone. [...]
We spent 18 hours in the temporary terminal at the Baghdad Airport.
Then they went home. No mention going into Baghdad. Period. I'm surprised that she didn't mention how peaceful it was and how much it reminded her of Turkey. How odd.
