The plot thickens in Howard Kaloogian's "accidental" posting of a photograph from Istanbul, Turkey on his campaign website, used to show how "calm and stable" Iraq really is.
According to Kaloogian, as a direct result of our investigation into his fake photo "In the past 24 hours my campaign website has been bombarded with our
largest inflow of support in the form of campaign contributions that we have experienced the entire campaign."
Is that so Mr. Kaloogian? I'm not sure I believe anything you say! more from his mindboggling letter to "supporters", under the fold:
Rather than express regret or admit his mistake, Kaloogian decided to go on the offensive (and I mean, truly offensive). From his letter to supporters:
"Last night I wrote to you to give you a heads up on the fact that there was a growing attack on our campaign by the news media and liberal political activists.
And the good news is that despite their best efforts, their attacks are backfiring."
Really? Not so when you consider that over a hundred new donors gave to Busby in the 48 hours since this story broke!
More:
"Because they disagree with our support for Operation Iraqi Freedom, the liberal news media and left-wing political activists are trying to defeat us and have sunk to the petty level of attacking me because 1
photograph on my website was mislabeled."
WAKE UP KALOOGIAN! We weren't "attacking" you, or the troops, or anyone....we were uncovering your hypocritical lies! You claimed that Iraq was calm and stable by showing a picture of Istanbul, Turkey! Then you had the unbelievable gall to state that anti-war journalists were responsible for the American publics "misunderstanding" of the true situation in Iraq! You dishonor your country and have no place in our representative government!
Kaloogian proceeds to plead for additional funds, here:
"I am asking that you help me continue to maintain this momentum, so I can respond to these attacks and take our message to the voters."
Let's make sure the real message about Kaloogian gets to the voters by supporting Busby!
You can do so here:

The election is now only 11 days away! Please consider giving if you can. The latest SUSA poll (the most accurate pollster from 2004) indicates that Busby has the support of 45% of the voters. If she gets 5% more--and I believe she can if her base gets out to vote--she'll win this thing on 4/11 and we can avoid the June runoff. Please do whatever you can afford to help win this one!
