The vote totals are in and Tulsa has a new mayor -- Democrat Kathy Taylor. She won with 51% of the vote. This area leans 55% repub so this is a nice acheivement. I know local elections aren't quite as sexy as Congressional, but this is good news in very red Oklahoma.
Kathy won on a ticket of getting tough on crime and bringing more businesses to Tulsa. Bill LaFortune did a fine job but fell victim to having little or no spine.
Here's hoping Kathy does a great job for four years then runs and beats Rep. John Sullivan who is truly nothing more than a repub empty suit.
FYI, democrats won two more seats on City Council.
